Aggregate Trucking Company

Background

The client is an asset-based trucking company handling aggregate-related materials for construction and site-infrastructure projects. The company started in 1994 and was tightly family owned. The most recent year reflected incredible results; however, the years prior were dismal because of the 2008 economic collapse.  The family decided it was time to sell all or a portion of the company.

Linq Approach

Working with both company ownership and its advisors, we organized financial information so that it was presentable to the public and would help to implement changes that realigned operations and increased the strategic value of the business. Linq developed a strategic marketing plan, and, understanding the post-transaction desires of ownership, our team developed a post-transaction strategy that met the needs of current ownership and targeted strategic investors and acquirers.


Results

Marketing to potential buyers began two months following the initial engagement. Qualified potential acquirers were secured with more than sixteen letters of intents (LOI) negotiated. Linq assisted buyers in structuring their deals, which ensured full post-acquisition opportunities that impacted valuation. This brought in valuations that exceeded the client’s expectations by more than 30%.
